As a Technical Web Designer, you will own the full lifecycle of a project, bridging the gap between aesthetic UI/UX and technical execution. Whether supporting our UK-based clients or our global plugin user base in the USA, you will be responsible for building high-performance, data-driven websites that prioritise both user experience and technical stability. This role is designed for someone who enjoys the variety of shifting between visual design, data architecture, and server-side optimisation.
We are open to discussing this role as a long-term partnership with freelance specialists or small agencies. Whether you are an individual or a white-label partner, you must be able to integrate seamlessly into our workflow and meet our technical standards.
- Advanced Elementor Pro: Mastery of the Theme Builder, Custom Loop Builder, and dynamic content integration to create bespoke layouts without relying on pre-made templates.
- ACF Pro (Advanced Custom Fields): Proven ability to architect complex data structures, including custom post types and relational fields, to build scalable and manageable websites.
- Performance Engineering: A technical approach to site builds that prioritises Core Web Vitals, minimising asset bloat and ensuring high-speed delivery across all device types.
- Technical SEO: Practical application of semantic HTML, logical heading hierarchies, and schema markup during the initial build phase to ensure search engine accessibility.
- WordPress Lifecycle Management: Experience managing the full deployment pipeline, including staging environments, database migrations, and plugin conflict resolution.
- Software Stewardship: Diligent oversight of plugin and license management, ensuring all software is updated, secure, and compliant across a varied client portfolio.
- Modern Workflow: Proficiency in using Cursor or VS Code to streamline development tasks.
- AI Integration: Experience leveraging models such as Claude Sonnet or equivalent to accelerate problem-solving and coding efficiency.
- Maintenance & Security: Experience with plugin and license management to ensure site stability and software compliance across a diverse portfolio.
- Plugin Development: Ability to contribute to plugin development or custom functionality is a significant bonus.
- WP-CLI: Familiarity with command-line interface tools for site automation and management.
- Server Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with cPanel and WHM, including DNS management and site migrations.
- Advanced Optimisation: Knowledge of server-side caching mechanisms and performance-tuning tools.
