A balanced way of working

Design for Online, a digital design and marketing agency based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, founded in 2016. In 2020 we changed over to a fully remote working model that which has enabled us to hire team members from all across the UK offering fully flexible working, including Blackpool, Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds, and Brighton. In addition to our in house team we also collaborated with a network of partners on various projects.

Our team has been working remotely successfully since 2020. This has allowed us to hire employees from all over the UK. While remote work has its own challenges, we have implemented systems such as a dedicated "team" channels to maintain strong communication and teamwork throughout the working day.

We offer regular one to one meetings, daily check ins and team huddles to ensure that everyone has the support and resources they need to be successful. We use a variety of communication tools, including Teams, Slack, Tidio, and Discord, to stay connected and collaborate as a remote team.

We collaborate and partner with businesses that provide complementary services to our own on an ongoing basis.

We offset our employees carbon footprint, in and out of work.

We are completely committed to environmental sustainability and partnered with Ecologi to offset our carbon emissions through tree planting and carbon offsetting projects since the start of 2021. We also offset the carbon usage of all our employees including during their annual leave.

We took part and completed the Kickstart scheme in 2021 and 2022.

We participated in the UK government's Kickstart Scheme throughout 2021 and 2022 and hired four talented individuals to join our team as a result. All of them work remotely and were provided with their own laptops and equipment. We provided comprehensive training and the opportunity to develop skills in social media management, sales, content creation, and more. We often continue professional development as the roles evolve offering the chance to transfer skills into new areas.
